Garrett’s Beer Pairing for KFC’s Daring Double Down
This afternoon, Brooklyn Brewery Receptionist Brian Dochney and Brewmaster Garrett Oliver sat down to discuss chicken purveyor KFC’s newest lab experiment The Double Down, which contains two pieces of bacon and two melted slices of cheese, slathered in mayonnaise and sandwiched between two slices of deep fried boneless chicken breasts.

Brooklyn Brewery’s Brown Ale and East India Pale Ale, reduced and stirred into our caramel along with crunchy chunks of salty Martin’s pretzels.

Also finally made it out to Brazen Head, which I have been meaning to check out for some time. Great beer and bourbon selection, including a cask beer which is not something you see often enough. They also do growlers of any of their couple dozen beers on tap. Definitely worth stopping in for a pint if you’re in the neighborhood.
